A few blistering sunburns in childhood can double a person’s lifetime risk of serious skin cancer. Children and adults should always wear a hat, shirt, and seek shade, such as under trees, umbrellas, or stroller canopy.
Our comprehensive beauty supplement was specifically designed for the care of bronze and tanned skin, and includes plant extracts like beta-carotene and lycopene as well as minerals, such as copper, which stimulates melanogenesis.
Sunlight Source
Sunlight provides your body with vitamin D, sometimes called the “sunshine vitamin.” Depending on your skin color and where you live, you may need to expose your body to sunlight more or less than others.
Sunlight exposure also stimulates the production of serotonin, which boosts mood and helps reduce depression symptoms. It can also improve sleep quality and increase energy levels by regulating the body’s internal clock. And, in some cases, sunlight can help to reduce metabolic syndrome risk by influencing certain types of fat cells.
The key to a beautiful, sun-kissed glow is healthy and safe tanning that gives your skin the right amount of UV protection. SUN-Kissed is formulated with clinically proven ingredient Melaline, which has been shown to increase both immediate and delayed skin pigmentation (tanning) after exposure to UV rays, resulting in a more even and natural tan and enhanced natural UV protection. The supplement contains additional plant colourants like beta-carotene and lycopene from carrot extract, as well as lutein (from Aztec marigold) and copper diglycinate. It is made in the UK to GMP standards and guaranteed for purity, safety and consistency.
Vitamin D Facts
Sunlight is not the only source of vitamin D, and getting too much sunlight can increase your risk of skin cancer. Nutritional supplements are also important sources. When the body absorbs vitamin D through the skin or from food, it's in an inactive form called 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D]. The liver and kidneys convert this vitamin D into the active form it needs for various functions, including calcium metabolism and bone health.
Sunlight's UVB radiation passes through uncovered skin and converts the molecule 7-dehydrocholesterol to previtamin D3, which then turns into vitamin D3 in the body. Different factors, including season, time of day, cloud cover, smog, sunscreen use, and skin melanin content, can affect how much vitamin D is made in the skin. People with darker skin can produce less vitamin D from the sun than those with lighter skin.
In general, most healthy people get enough vitamin D from food and supplements. Babies up to 1 year need 8.5 to 10 micrograms (mcg) of vitamin D a day, and adults need between 600 and 4,000 IU a day. An FNB committee that established RDAs for vitamin D found insufficient evidence to show a relationship between intake and several health outcomes, with the exception of bone health. These include cancer, cardiovascular disease, depression, and type 2 diabetes.
Health Guide
The prevailing public health message, which is based on flawed research and outdated guidelines, suggests that sunlight exposure causes skin cancer and only contributes to bone health. This is a false, harmful message that should be changed immediately.
SUN-Kissed contains premium ingredient Melaline, which has been shown to increase immediate and delayed skin pigmentation after sun exposure, resulting in a significantly darker skin tone and enhanced natural UV protection. The formula also includes l-tyrosine, which is at the start of melanogenesis and is the first step in the process that creates the dark pigment melanin.
In addition to containing a combination of plant extracts, the supplement is fortified with minerals, such as copper diglycinate and astaxanthin. The formula is suitable for those who are particularly concerned about sun exposure and want to look their best when on a holiday or on a tropical getaway in winter.
